Images from Assergi, Abruzzo
Assergi is a fine mountain village about 20 km from L'Aquila, at an altitude of 1,000 mt just below the Gran Sasso.
It hosts the headquarters of the National Park Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, and a couple of km from the cableway which leads to Campo Imperatore. The village has a nice medieval historical center, and the 12th-century church of Santa Maria Assunta is typically inserted in the defence walls.
