• Located about 100 km east of Rome, L'Aquila can easily be reached by A24, exit L'Aquila Est or Ovest. From the Adriatic it is connected to the A14 through the A24. State Road SS17 connects the city to Rieti to the north-west and Pescara on the Adriatic Sea.
• There are train connections from L'Aquila to Sulmona and Terni [you can find trains timetables and tickets on the official Trenitalia website]
• 90 km away there is the Pescara airport where it will be possible to pick up a rental car. There is also a small tourist airport in L'Aquila. Rome airports can also be reached in 2-3 hours depending on the traffic.
