The building technique of the "terra cruda" (hay, clay and water) houses is present all over the world. In Abruzzo the itinerary starts from Casalincontrada, then to Villa Badessa, an Albanese-Byzanthine community since 1743. Then manoppello, to visit also the Volto Santo, and Santa Maria d'Arabona, San Liberatore a Majella in Serramonacesca.

Renzo Tieri, a sculptor from Bolognano, co-operated with Joseph Beuys in the project Piantagione Paradise on the Maiella. Until 15 November his works on show in Fano, in the Marches region. He works with recovered stones, crystal and steel.
