Pratola Peligna - The last pastaio / L'ultimo pastaio artigianale, by Claudio Lattanzio
The last pasta-maker in the Peligna Valley, still working in the old way: Agostino Masciarelli says his secret is drying the pasta slowly at low temperature 45° centigrade for 24 hours. The family business began in 1870 in Fara San Martino, then the family moved to Torre de' Passeri and finally to Pratola. They make 1500 kg a day, in 60 different types.

Pescara - Inventive railway man dies at 101 / Geniale ferroviere muore a 101 anni
Trieste Pericoli, born on 16 september 1900 was a railway employee as a job, a lover of silent movies, fencing and canoeing. His wife Marcella was the first woman to work in the municipality of Castellamare. Mostly self-taught, Trieste reached high positions in the railways. At 98 he built a small radio by himself. His last words: "va tutto bene".
