Alberto Di Giovanni left Roccamorice in 1963 when he was only 18, due to Toronto. After 13 years' work he succeeded in launching his Centro di scuola e cultura italiana in 1976. Main aims of the center are the promotion of the Italian language and culture and the organization of school terms for Canadian students in Abruzzo, valid to gain a high school diploma.

Week of the Italian language / Settimana della lingua italiana
Starting from Monday 15 over 20 Institutes in the world will unite in a promotion campaign, in reply to the growing demand for learning Italian. The week is the culmination of many years of efforts made by 93 culture institutes, 181 Italian schools abroad, 257 university lecture positions, 500 Dante Alighieri committees. The coordination of the events is entrusted to the Accademia della Crusca, whose President is Abruzzese Francesco Sabatini.
