New name for the National Park of Abruzzo/ Il Pna sarà anche del Lazio e Molise
Yesterday the name of the oldest national park in Italy was officially changed to "Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise", with great satisfaction of the 13 municipalities included into the park and belonging to Lazio and Molise. The Abruzzese municipalities in the Park are still the majority, that is 23. Park President Fulco Pratesi says the new name is a great enrichment.

Avezzano - The Fucino treasure on show / Il tesoro del Fucino in mostra
Tomorrow in Villa Torlonia inauguration of an exhibition on the history of the draining of lake Fucino, the third largest in Italy, from antiquity to 1875. First attempted in Roman times under Emperors Augustus, Claudius, Tiberius and Hadrian the project employed 30 thousand slaves. 18 centuries later the Torlonia family fulfilled the great task and gathered all the archeological findings on the bottom of the lake in their private collection, which in 1994 was purchased by the Italian Department of Culture. The exhibition, open until 30 October, contains 500 original pieces and helps to reconstruct the history of the ancient inhabitants of the area.
