Researchers and scientists from Europe and Canada met on Sunday in Barisciano, to exchange experiences especially on large-size herbivores, such as the Abruzzo chamois, recently reintroduced in the Gran Sasso-Laga National Park.

Atri - Presentation of new book on Andrea Delitio / Un volume per conoscere Andrea Delitio
Andrea Delitio is still little known in Abruzzo. The book presented yesterday in the cathedral of Atri contains a number of essays on the painter born in the 15th century in Lecce dei Marsi, whose works are all over Abruzzo and also in museums in Baltimora, New York, Providence.

Rosciano - The Albanese colony in Villa Badessa / La colonia di Villa Badessa
In Villa Badessa, Rosciano, province of Pescara, for centuries now there has been an Albanese community. The 500 inhabitants still living here are descended from 18 families who left Albania in the 18th century and received officially two feifdoms from King Charles III Bourbon on 4 march 1744. Still today they maintain their Orthodox rites.

Civitella Casanova - Married for 75 years / Marito e moglie da 75 anni
Guerino Marsili, 97, and Teresa D'Alò, 98 got married on10 april 1926 and had 6 children. They could not celebrate their wedding anniversary only during WW2, since Guerino was captured at El Alamein and imprisoned in Aylesbury, England, until 1946. A clever mason up to the age of 80, he was also in the village musical band.

Sulmona - Easter celebrations / manifestazioni della Settimana Santa, by Antonio Ranalli
From Thursday the ancient rites return: the Sepolcri, the procession of "Cristo morto" and the "Madonna che scappa". For Thursday all churches will be open until midnight, then on Good friday the procession from the church of Santissima Trinità to Santa Maria della Tomba. On Saturday evening another procession will accompany the statue of the Madonna from Santa Maria della Tomba to San Filippo Neri, from where the following morning at midday the statue will run towards the statue of resurrected Christ. A book on the tradition was recently published by Professor Giuseppe Papponetti.
