The muncipaliity decided to name the elementary schools after monsignor Giuseppe Celidonio, born in Scanno in 1852, a great religious figure and historian, and the junior high school to Romualdo Parente, born in 1737, who was a distinguished poet in the Neapolitan Arcadia, and the beginner of Abruzzese literary dialect poetry with his «Zu matremonio azz'uso» and «La figlianna di Mariella».
