Paganica - An inspector and art lover recovers stolen statue / Ispettore-antiquario ritrova preziosa statua
A precious statue stolen 20 years ago in Paganica, a wooden Virgin Mary with child of the 15th century was recovered by Antonio Piras, who saw a photo of the statue recently in an art catalogue. The statue was in the home of an antiquary in Marches. Unfortunately the Child is missing.

103 on 6 october, Angela Bisegna is the second oldest inhabitant of the Valle Roveto, after Giuseppina Persia from Civitella who will turn 107 on 25 january 2001. A mother of 10, sharp-minded and in good health, Angela still enjoys some knitting.

Antonio Lusini, 49, born in Pettorano sul Gizio, would like to find any brothers or sisters. He was left at 6 by his parents in an orphanage near L'Aquila, and lived in hospices until he started working as a wood engraver. Now an invalid, he recently lost his job in a cinema and has no friends, nor photos to cherish in his mind.

Catignano - A neolithic village found / Scavi archeologici nel villaggio neolitico, by Alessandro Iannetti
In contrada Sterpara near Catignano archeologists from Pisa have been working for 30 years now and excavated finally a neolithic village of 6000 years ago. The studies have shown the typical aspect of this "Catignano culture" with its ceramic works painted in red and brown against a yellow background. Huts, food pits, ovens have been carefully excavated and helped to gain a clear knowledge of how life was organized.

Bucchianico - Honorary citizenship to the Canadian ambassador / Festa dei Banderesi e l'ambasciatore è cittadino onorario
A special edition of the Banderesi festival and an exhibition of over 250 historical photos in honor of Ronald Irwin, the Canadian ambassador to Ireland, originary from Bucchianico. 60 banderesi in costume paraded through the town and the ancient "Paranza" band played traditional music.
