Lecture tomorrow on Abruzzese economy scholars from 1500 to this day and presentation of two volumes of Economisti abruzzesi published by Rocco Carabba in Lanciano: «Scritti di politica economica» by Ferdinando Galiani and «Saggi sul risparmio» by Umberto Ricci. The presentation will be done by two present-day famous economists: vice-director of Banca d'Italia, Pierluigi Ciocca, and Marcello De Cecco, professor of Politica economica e finanziaria in Roma.

Vincenzo Montingelli, a Carabinieri major, was born in Andria and at 18 was already a Carabiniere and was sent on duty to Torricella Peligna, where he married and raised his two sons. He was a prisoner of the British in a camp in Africa and there saved the life of an English soldier giving him his water. Thanks to that gesture, he was moved to London, and one evening also taken to the Royal Albert Hall. On his 100th birthday he gave his relatives and friends silver cases with the words "I wish also to you to celebrate your 100th birthday".
