Pescara - Sea procession yesterday / Sant'Andrea, la città in festa , by Ernesto Grippo
For 75 years now the rite has been going on. Fireworks and laurel crowns into the sea for the procession of Sant'Andrea. Starting from the South Dock, fisherboats were ready to sail off. At 9 mass in Sant'Andrea celebrated by Archbishop Francesco Cuccarese. Then the statue was carried out as far as the dock, and on a boat. Once out at sea, laurel crowns were launched to commemorated sea victims. It is an important tradition for mothers and spouses of fishermen.

Alfiero Capitani just won the "Palio del 2000" for Porta Bonomini. A great scenery for the event, people, horses, Piazza Maggiore, for over 30 thousand people. Don Marco and don Giancarlo Cuneo are a sensation for the small place. Last born of six children, together they felt the vocation towards religious life, and now don Marco is parish priest at Santa Maria di Bagno and don Giancarlo at San Benedetto di Bagno. Their only difference in the favourite soccer team.

Capestrano - Another warrior? / Un altro Guerriero di Capestrano?, by Angela Baglioni
Archeologist D'Ercole says a smaller statue was sold at an auction in 1992 in New York at Sotheby for 235 thousand USD and might be in Britain now. In the necropolis near Capestrano since 1934 about 50 tombs were found, all of them very rich. prof. D'Ercole says excavations should be continued in the area, one of the most promising in Abruzzo.
