Colonnella - Veltroni sides with Barnabei / Veltroni con Barnabei
Walter Veltroni, Italian Parliamentarian and Secretary of the Democratici di Sinistra Party, made a request signed by all the leaders of the Italian Parties to ask the Virginia Governor for a suspension of the death sentence and revision of the sentence of Derek Rocco Barnabei, authorizing DNA exams. The Barnabei family believes this exam will prove the innocence of Rocco. Other signers of the petitions: the municipality of Colonnella, the Abruzzo Council, the President of the Italian Republic, the Pope, Amnesty International.

Second edition of the artistic and traditional craftswork of Abruzzo, at the touristic port in Pescara. Opening this Sunday, from 19 to 24 hours. Over 152 firms and artisans: goldsmiths, copper, iron, brass and leather artisans, woodcarvers, lace and embroidery, artistic glass, makers of musical instruments etc.

Civitella Casanova - Doctor Maione dies / Morto il pioniere dell'oculistica
Originary of Civitella, Mario Maione died last Sunday in Parma, at 81. A great oculist doctor, a University Professor and world-renowned specialist, author of medical manuals and a scientist. His father was a railway officer, his mother a schoolteacher.
