Pescara - The lost city / La città perduta, by Francesco di Miero
Excavators cancelled forever the "frantoio del Vate", the cottage where Gabriele d'Annunzio played in his childhood, on top of Colle Pizzuto. Though in advanced decay, it could have been saved. The poet sold the palace in the early 1900 to the Sanità di Toppi barons, who used it as a country residence. A few days ago it was finally demolished.

Guardiagrele - A young girl's tomb of 2600 years ago is found / Viene alla luce a la tomba di una bambina del VI secolo avanti Cristo
At Comino, near Guardiagrele, the 39th tomb in the necropolis is found: dated to the 6th century BC, it contains the skeleton of a young girl, with bronze rings and pendants and a ceramic pot.

Atri - Birthday parties for two 100-year-old ladies / Atri festeggia due centenarie
In beautiful, peaceful Atri you can live long and healthy. On 12,000 inhabitants there are 4 over-100, 455 elderly people between 79 and 89 anni (195 males, 260 females), and 83 people between 89 and 99 (19 males, 64 females). Last march in Fontanelle Annunziata Marziani and Candida Mariani this 6 june turned 100 years old. Nonna Candida is still perfectly healthy.

Popoli - The summer program is ready / Il cartellone dell'estate popolese , by Giacomo Zaino
Association «Spazio Arte» started the summer with a concert last Saturday. The music program for the whole summer is full of concerts, the 1st "Rassegna nazionale di arti visive" from 22 july to 19 august, from 30 july to 6 august an exhibition of old historical cards, "Ricordi di Popoli", and from 10 to 17 august an exhibition of vintage cameras.

Manoppello - Ancient coat-of-arms found / Ritrovato l'antico stemma, by Walter Teti
In the walls of the church of San Nicola stone carver "maestro" Angelo D'Astolfo found the ancient emblem of the town: a low-relief showing a wheat sheaf (a "manopel" in local dialect), carved in a 30x50cm stone of the 13th century.
