At the fair "Abitare oggi" representatives of this ancient job appeared in their traditional costumes. About 100 lives would be saved in Italy each here with a proper cleaning of chimneys, but this profession is really on the brink of extinction.

Two children, Tommaso and Marisa Montefusco, three grandchildren and one great-grandchildren will gather around elderly Liberata De Ritis born on 7 may 1899.

The three winners of the prizes are Francesco Marcattili with an essay on Teramo and the Resistance, Giovanna Manetta Sabatini with a study on Mosciano in the 18th century and Luigi Ponziani for the typographical annals in the 19th century in Abruzzo.

The local Art Institute will take part to the project for the development of a "modern" presentosa, the traditional Abruzzese jewel, to be shown next september in the craftswork exhibition in Guardiagrele. The jewel will be in yellow and white gold and diamonds. Aim of the project is to launch the jewel, now known only among Abruzzese, on the international markets.
