Final day for the 24th edition of the Flower Festival with a procession on the sea for Santa Liberata, the statue on the foremost boat, then at 11.30 landing at the docks and blessing of the sea.

This feast marked the end of intestine fights between the city's families in the Renaissance. Flag-bearers, heralds, drum players in costume opened the historical re-enactment to finish with the lighting of the peace candle in the cathedral. This feast is the prologue of the Festa dei Trionfi due in July.

Roccamorice - Feast for San Bartolomeo / Fedeli in festa, by Daniela D'Alimonte
A great feast in the small town to celebrate the return of the statue, The inhabitants had protested against the art authorities, who had taken away the statue for restoration, and the carabinieri had brought it back. Many came to pray and kiss the small knife in the statue's hand, which is believed to have healing powers. Every year on 25th august buses loaded with pilgrims arrive and walk up to the hermitage of Celestine 5th, then carry the statue down to the parish of Roccamorice, where it remains for two weeks. The wooden statue, 80 cm high, is dated by some to 1200, by others to more recent times.
