Lanciano - A second cross by Nicola di Guardiagrele found / Nicola da Guardiagrele, preziosa scoperta, by Mario Giancristofaro
A real art scoop: another cross by Abruzzese master goldsmith Nicola da Guardiagrele (early 15th century) was found by Architect Riccardo Urbano. The place where the cross is kept cannot be revealed yet. The cross, in very bad shape, is 65 cm in height and 51 in width, and belongs to the third period of Nicola's production.

L'Aquila - The 800 hundred years old procession / Si rinnova il rito della processione, by Federica Farda
The tradition goes back to the mid-13th century. This year all nine choirs of the city will attend. The sarcofaghus of Christ will be carried by the Order of Accountants. All the figures in the present procession were made by Remo Brindisi in 1954, designed by Salvatore Roccioletti. The tradition was established in the 13th century by the Cavalieri della Nobile Compagnia del Santo Sepolcro dei Neri, founded by Goffredo di Buglione, after the first Crusade.

Chieti - The Procession is 500 years old / La Processione compie 500 anni
The "Processione del Cristo Morto" was officially organized by the Arciconfraternita del Sacro Monte dei Morti on 3 april 1648. The great fascination of this Holy Friday event, one of the most beautiful in Italy, is the "Miserere" by Saverio Selecchy (1708-1788), chapel master in San Giustino, who wrote it in 1740. Since 1855 seven wooden groups, designed by Raffaele Del Ponte and carved by Luigi and Paolo Anzellotti, were introduced: the Angelo, Lance, Colonna, Sasso, Veronica, Scala and Croce.

"L'Appennino Web Magazine", will be published by the Centro celestiniano as a support to pilgrims in Umbria, Marches, Latium, Abruzzo, Molise, Apulia and Campania following the religious itineraries of San Francesco d'Assisi, Celestino V and Padre Pio.

Manoppello - An Abruzzese delegation to Marcinelle, Belgium / Delegazione abruzzese in partenza per Marcinelle
This 28 april in Marcinelle a street will be named "Rue de Manoppello" in honor of the 24 miners from Manoppello who died here in 1956 (the victims were 263, 61 of them from Abruzzo). Members of the delegation Giorgio De Luca, Giovanni Terreri, Camillo Nubile, interpreter Antonietta Di Renzo, Antonio Di Girolamo and Antonio Castricone from the province, and the whole choir of Bussi Sul Tirino, "Busc Nostr", of 50 members, directed by maestro Devino Nattarelli.
