Vasto fire brigade finally succeded in recovering Carolina, a cow who fell into a steep stream two days ago fracturing two legs. Many of the local residents helped to carry (physically) the 600-kg pregnant cow out of her dire straits. The vet immediately applied his art, the cow devoured her long-awaited meal and owner Vincenzo Stampone wiped his eyes for the joy.

The lonely male swan who has been living for some time now near the mouth of the Saline river, so dear now to all the residents, will soon have a Dutch girlfriend. The swan has become the emblem of enviromentalists in the area, which is an important resting site for migratory birds.
