Federico Caffè, one of the Italian greatest economists and researchers, shy and reserved, was never really appreciated in his hometown. To give his name to a new autonomous university would mean to finally acknowledge his stature.

Chieti - 100th birthday for schoolmistress Gilda / Le prime 100 candeline della "maestrina" Gilda
At Villa degli olivi today Gilda D'Andreagiovanni will blow on her 100 candles surrounded by relatives, friends and former students. Born in Chieti on 26 march 1900, she taught throughout the provinces of Teramo and Pescara for 42 years. She was awarded a gold medal by the Education Ministry.

Pescara - The Sette Dolori Statue / Una statua e i suoi fedeli
Every morning at 5 at least 600 faithfuls enter the basilica of Pescara Colli to pray before the statue or listen to Guglielmo, a disciple to Padre Pio. All the precious ex-voto and the jewels of the statue are now gone in the hands of unscrupulous thieves. Each year thousands of pilgrims visit the sanctuary, inaugurated on 30 may 1757 by the bishop of Atri, Gennaro Ferrelli, and each year the statue leaves the church for a great festival.
