During a meeting on the Brown bear (Ursus arctos) conservation, Giovanni Potena discussed the two main problems: first, the population is only about 50 - 60 animals; secondly, brucellosis, which makes contaminated animals sterile, has reappeared in the Alto Sangro. A number of experts have joined in rescueing the bear, a non social animal reaching maturity at 4 - 9 years of age, with a very low birthrate and in need of 16 kg food a day.

Avezzano's mayor Spallone has proposed bringing back a small lake in the area of San Benedetto. The proposal was part of a wider plan that wants to establish a Natural Reserve at Salviano, rules for truffle collection, a "Piano neve" with skiing facilities on Monte Marsicano and a small lake reserved to fishing with a surface of about 1000 hectares. A lake within the former lake joining at last fishermen and farmers.

The Sala Cascella in the Chiola castle welcomed a crowd of authorities from the Region, Baroness Anna Maria Persiani Acerbo and mayor Mauro Di Zio. The museum is another important step in the preservation of a great history and culture for the whole mankind. The museum rises from the private collection of Baron Giacomo Acerbo, who in the early decades of the XX century with great dedication gathered ceramics pieces from the 14th to the 19th century by the great Castelli masters belonging to families Gentile, Grue, Fuina and Cappelletti.
