Regional counsellor Francesco Sciarretta has presented an urgent bill to president Antonio Falconio to help the Abruzzese families hit by the terrible landslides and floods in Venezuela. Thousands of families are mourning for their victims there, and many of them are of Italian origin. Also Ovindoli's mayor, Simone Angelosante, whose parents are now living in Venezuela, backed the proposal.

The Municipality, the Pro loco and the Compagnia arcieri vestini have organized an exhibition «Medioevo 2000», with photos, craftswork and costumes from 26 december to 4 january. Works by Angelo Foti (neorealistic photos), Carlo Pilone (images from Vestine art), Alfredo Rietti (iron, armors and weapons) and Rossella Di Giosaffatte (precious 16th century fashionables clothes).

On 5 january for the 49th edition of the living crib in Rivisondoli 18-year-old Prisca Pace from Pratola has been chosen to be Mother Mary for the sweetness of her face and deep eyes. «I never imagined I would be chosen. I felt an emotion I cannot describe when the jury gave out my name. Nobody among her schoolfriends knew until they saw her on TV.
