Renato D'Alessandro wants a parish priest for Ari, where for seven years now the church has been empty. On 22 August 1978 Ignazio Silone died in Geneva. Though always inspired from politics, he never belonged to a party. His characters are expatriates, clandestines, victims of dictators. He refused violence for a libertarian socialism. Fascism persecuted him, killed his brother, expelled him from his native Pescina. All the Italian left owes something to Silone. But for us Abruzzese Silone is much more, he tells about the poetry of our landscape: the stone houses, villages, mountains.

PENNE. Fifth edition of «Argentoverde-espressioni creative e culturali di ieri e di oggi», organized by Auser in Penne historical centre: the craftsmasters explained their techniques and showed their works. The President of Auser, Silvia Marcelli, thinks this is the right direction to increase jobs and preserve traditions. All the workshops were full of visitors: the embroidery with Lucia Cardone, Erminia Di Teodoro and Franca Foschini, goldsmiths shops with Valeria Perilli and Damiano Petrucci; wroughtiron with Valentino Colangeli and Enzo Azzurrini, ceramics with Paolo De Pamphilis, Antonio Moretti, Barbara D'Addazio and Francesca Paolini.
