Veramente un sito interessante, ho scoperto delle zone dell'Abruzzo tramite Voi, ho visitato quasi tutta la regione e' bellissima! localita' fantastiche luoghi da rivedere il prossimo anno. Siamo vicini come distanza tra le due regioni. Comunque il sud italia e' tutto da scoprire. Invito a tutti i residenti all'estero di venire nel sud e principalmente in Abruzzo ed in Calabria. Un saluto a tutti gli emigrati del Sud Italia, ritornate spesso!!!.

I'm new to the site and have only recently found a deep desire to find out more about my roots from the city of Torino di Sangro. Both grandparents Priori/Grandaliano were born there and I'm hoping to find out more about the area and city. I did find one web site that had a picture of the Torino di Sangro, but.. alas, I can not find it again. Perhaps someone reading this can help.

I'd like to know the history of Atri, Montepagano, and Morro d'Oro. My grandfather, Alfredo Amadeo Attilo Iezzi's town was Atri (his father Michele Iezzi, brothers Raffaele, Gaetano, sisters Lucia, Iolanda, Iole, Maria). My grandmother Genevra Santarelli D'ascenzo's town was Montepagano (father Guerino, mother Eliza Santarelli). Other ancestors are from Morro d'Oro. Names are Iezzi, D'ascenzo, Santarelli, Tucacci, Martella, and Zaga I've read that the ancient Italic groups of their areas were Picene and Vestini (comprised of Marsi, Paeligni, and Marrucini). I've also read something about the Visigoths and the Byzantines & I'd like to know how they relate to the Abruzzese people. If you've been to Atri, Montepagano, or Morro d'Oro, or if you're related, I'd really like to hear from you. The choir "A. Di Jorio" of Atri led by Alfonso Bizzari made a beautiful recording of Abruzzese songs "Canti Del Folkore Abruzzese" which is worth getting. I'd also like to hear from my cousins (Iole's grandson) Cocciarfico and other cousins in Atri or Pescara, with whom I've lost contact. I'd love to hear from you!

My Aunt keeps telling me we "are Abruzzi"! With great emphasis. We just had family reunion in Youngstown, OH.
Grandmother was Lucia DeLucia, she married Cataldo Como, born Rome, then after his death, she married Joe Marotti.
Family names include, DeLucia, Como, Marotti, Caputo. the area of USA is centered around Pittsburgh, PA. enjoyed your site and will return.

Great site! I am heading up a group of 29 friends and relatives on a pilgrimage to the Teramo area Sept. 21 to 26 and would like to make contact with Lepore's, Malavolta'a and Sistilli's living in Teramo, Compli and Civitella del Tronto. I am looking for information about my family in Italy and besides about the Abruzzos road facilities.
My grand father Domenico Marraffini was born in Guilmi in 1887 and his parents names were Grazia Perrucci and Egidio Marraffini. The house address where he was born was in Via Pozzetto Nº20.
As we are planning to make a trip to Italy next September I would like to take the chance to visit Guilmi and the family house (if it still exists)For that reason I would like to know how difficult it would be driving from Guilmi (Ch) to Naples. I have seen that several roads and highways i the maps seem to be interrupted or not finished yet.

Ho radici profonde in abruzzo nello sperduto comune di Castellafiume, sperduto perchè prima di tutti gli abitanti lo hanno dimenticato. Oltre ad un sito per favorire il turismo, occorrerebbe una terapia di gruppo in grado di aprire un varco tra il loro mondo e quello reale. Castellafiume è un paese carino, non merita di morire in maniera così anonima.
