Great web site. I am researching the family of Gaetano ALLEGRETTO b. abt. 1859 and Maria Carmela DiCola, b. May 5 1863. Their son Louis D. ALLEGRETTO came to Rasselas, Elk Co., PA and married into my Markert family, leaving many descendents. We believe both came from Barrea, D'Aquila Province. Pozzi, Looking for my grandfather's sister descendants with the name of Pozzi. Splendora Baggiani DiFrancesco and Pasquale Pozzi had six children:Romulo, Costanza, Maria Giulia, Tommaso, Rea Silvia, and Pasquale Filistauro last child born after death of his father Pasquale. Hello to all the abruzzesi in the world!!!
my mother's family is from San Demetrio ne Vestini - 19 miles from L'Aquila. I live in Rome, but everytime i can i escape and join the quiet of this very nice village, its countryside and its lake (Sinizzo) and all the little village surrounding (Villa S.Angelo, Fossa, Fontecchio, Prata d'Ansedonia, Onna, San Gregorio, Barisciano, Bazzano, Paganica, Poggio Picenze, S.Eusanio, San Gregorio etc...).
Although I live in Rome, I spend a lot of time in San demetrio during my free time. Collarano is the area near the Little church of S.Antonio (now restructured).
In one way or another (Antonelli/De Matteis/Di Gasbarro/Mancinelli/Lucci/Liberatore) we are all related, cousins, brother and sisters in law of my mum.
So if there is anybody from S.Demetrio and surrounding out there and in one way or another you are related to above name you are welcome to contact me.

My most memorable trip of my was to Montorio al Vomano and Poggio Umbrichio in October 2002. I met my cousins from the Persia, Ragusi family. What a beautiful village, where the aroma of gourmet food follows you on Sunday afternoon where people after a visit to the Piazza have their Sunday dinner. People enjoy friends and family. My cousins drove me to Pescara, San Gabriele, Teramo and the hills of Montorio. I speak the native dialect so I got along very well. The hills are truly beautiful. Thanks to Bettinella, Maria, Ezio, Fiorina for all your hospitality. I love Montorio al vomano and also Poggio Unbrichio where my dear cousin Marcucco lives the year around.
