My mother, Mary Alberico was born in Carmanico Terme, provincia di Pescara in Abruzzi. I have already found what's left of my family, my cousins the Molellas. They own a lovely pensione in Caramanico Terme. The countryside is beautiful and worth the trip. If anyone has relatives from this town, feel free to contact me. Ciao, ciao.

Ciao!

I have recently started searching my family's history. As many of you would already know the tyranny of distance makes searching very difficult. My father (Nicola) migrated to Australia in 1952. His father Carmine Buccella was born in Alanno p.Pescara. His mother was Elvira Buccella (Torelli). Carmine's father was named Domenico Buccella also I believe born in Alanno. His wife was Anna(Vincenza)Buccella(Fasciani/a). If anyone can help I would appreciate it very much.

This is a great site! I am researching the Zannelli and Tiberi families who immigrated to Connecticut, USA, at the turn of the 1900s from Pettorano sul Gizio. The previous generation women from Italy were Concettina Giannetti, or Ginnetti, or Ginetti, and Domenica Chiotta, both also from Pettorano sul Gizio as far as we know. Any information would be helpful. Sadly, I do not read or speak Italian.

My Grandfather, with his parents and siblings came the U.S. in 1912, from Campobasso, originally from Chieti. Imagine my surprise to see that Bucchianico celebrates a festival with the "Ciammaichella" name a big part. I am planning to travel to Abbruzzo in 2003, with my father and sons, and would very much like to enjoy the festival. I am interested in specific dates and also the origin of the Ciammaichella name and reason that the celbration uses this name.

I am the granddaughter of Ernesto DiFabio (I believe he spelled it DeFabio). He was in his 70s when he died in the 70s, but I know he had some family there. He married Sophie Petralia from Catania, Sicily. They spent most of their lives here, but did go back from time to time. I don't know much about his family so if there are any cousins out there, please contact me.

Hello,
My husband and I will be coming to Italy in May 2002 and I would love to locate any distant relatives. Both my maternal and paternal grandparents emigrated from Italy at the turn of the last century. My maternal grandparents were Eustachio Pinti and Liberata (DiMascio) Pinti both from Tocca Casauria, Chieti. My paternal grandparents were Berlardino Caparella and Maria Domenica (Sgrignuoli)Caparella both from Fossacesia, Chieti. My maternal grandmother's parents were Cesidio DiMascio and Rosa (Bottari) DiMascio. In addition to my grandmother they had 5 other children including a woman who emigrated to Brazil at the turn of the last century. My paternal grandmother's parents were Gennaro Sgrignuoli and Maria (DiFrancesco) Sgrignuoli. Not much is known about the Caparella side.
Any information or help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. If you are related to any of these people, please e-mail me! Thanks.

My Greatgrandfather, Michele (Michael) NotarFrancesco, a musician (harp & violin) and a businessman (pool halls and barber shops) came to the USA in the 1880's or 90's and settled in the Philadelphia area. I believe that he came from the Naples (Campana) area, possibily Marsico Nuovo. I am trying to locate any living relatives and learn more about the family. Hopefully, someone will know of them and whether they speak English and have an e-mail address. Even, if not, we can get a translation of any message. He ultimately had 10 children, who lived and his eldest was my Grandfather. I would like to e-mail the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Marsico Nuovo or Potenza and Campana and, maybe they could help. Any information that anyone can supply would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ron Francisco nightair at localnet.com

Hi,
We are trying to locate relatives of our grandfather, Antonio Muscente who was born in Palena, Italy on August 9, 1868.
He was a prominent musician who achieved acclaim and immigrated to the United States around 1898.
He was a cornetist and had his own band, The Imperial Band of Providence, Rhode Island which consisted of 30 musicians.
We understand that there is some kind of memorial to him, perhaps in the form of a statue or monument in Palena.
Any information regarding the above would be truly welcomed.
Hoping to hear from someone who knows.
Thank you

Hello,
My mother is from San Benedetto in Perillis...her maiden name is Maria D'Urbano. Her mother was Domenica Paolini and her father was Giovanni D'Urbano. They came to the US in 1936 and settled in Brooklyn, NY. I am very sad to say that my mother recently passed away. Now it is time for me to make the pilgrimage to my mother's hometown to see where I come from and show my daughters where their ancestry is from. We will be travelling from Rome to L'Aquila to San Benedetto in Perillis. I would very much appreciate any information anyone can give me on how to get to San Benedetto in Prillis from Rome and any info on hotels, etc.

I am told my my aging grandparents and great aunts and uncles that my great great grandfather Francesco Franchi america sometime before 1914 and then returned to get his son Eliseo(my great grandfather). I know nothing of Francesco or his relatives however, any assistance would be most helpful.

Hi! I am going to visit Italy this summer, and would love to find relatives! My grandmother was Mary Petrucci, and she was orphaned in Ortucchio in the 1915 earthquake when her mother Dominica left her and her sisters at home while she went to the church to pray. My great-grandfather was Vincent (English spelling) Petrucci, and died in 1954 or 1955 in Italy. My grandmother, Mary Petrucci, lived in an orphanage until the age of 18, and then came to U.S.
I am looking for descendants of Dominica and Vincent Petrucci living in Ortucchio, or nearby. Please reply in English if possible.
