My Grandfather, Andrew Barone, was from Castel del Monte and born on March 23, 1876. His Father was James Barone. His Mother was Angel Cericolia. I haven't been able to find the Barone's or the Cericolia's listed anwhere using Castel del Monte or L'Aquila as a starting point and would appreciate any suggestions to aid in tracing my ancestors. I just found you & am also delighted to register. Dad came from Ortona-Been back a number of times & found no relatives. Did get a copy of my Fathers birth record.Very interesting- Where it attests to the fact that a son was born to a Luigi Tasso when it comes to naming the mother it says "by a woman who refuses to be named herein. WOW Found her name was Valentinetti. The major drug store in the town carries the same name but questioning them brought no answers. Cemetery records are not available so will explore other veins. Any suggestions?? Also Grand father died very young 38 Grand mother lived till about 1919 and was blind as near as we can recall. A reminder to all talk to your kids about their heritage. Looking for relatives in Italy - My maiden name is Barlaam and my great-great parents were Donao and Chiara. They had three sons Antonio, Vencenza and Carmen.
