I only know that my father, born in 1939, emigrated to Switzerland and his brother emigrated to Venezuela. My father told me that many family members emigrated to northern america, but i don't know anything about that. Can anyone help, please? my grandparents came to the US in 1913 via Ellis Island. Their names were Concezio Marinelli and Anna Domenica Di febo Marinelli. They settled in Ticonderoga, New York and my grandfather began working at the local paper mill. They changed his surname to Morette, however, it is not our true heritage. I would love to visit Silva Italy where they came from and am starting to do research. Some relatives have visited and met relatives but as time goes on we are becoming more distantly related. However, I do want to visit and live in the town they grew up in and try to experience a little of their lives even though it is such a different time and place now. They left just before WWI began. Otherwise, I would probably not be here.

My maternal grandfather, Vincenzo Checca, was born in the village of Pettorano sul Gizio, Abruzzo, 10.5KM south of Sulmona, in the year 1894. I've visted Pettorano once in October, 2012. I'm interested in hearing from others whose origins are in Pettorano. Also, I was told that my paternal great grandfather, Rafaele Albanese, was born in Abruzzo. One family member said that he was born in Atri. However, the Atri city Hall confirmed this was not the case as Albanese is not an Atri family name. I visted two other cities in vain looking for records of Rafaele Albanese. Does anyone know of Albanese's in Abruzzo? I should try the Providence, RI, city hall for my great grandfather's marriage license that would list his place of birth. However, as I live 8,000KM from the USA, this is not possible.

My Grandfather Peter DeVito (Pietro DiVito) came to the US from Bugnara as a boy. His father was Raphael Divito. Raphael wife (my Great Grandmother) was a Nolfi. My Great Grandmother never came to America. I assume she never came because my Great Grandfather died (so we were told). I notice the surname DiVito-Nofli still listed as a current surname in Bugnara Italy. Could we be related????

Hi! I am researching Caramanico families: my grandmother - Teresia DiSera born 1891, went to Joliet, IL in 1923. Part of her family (Paul DiSera) went to Argentina.
Teresia married the widow Biase (William) Alberico who had 5 children - Menerina, Esther, Matt, Frank and Milton Rosario. He brought all to Joliet, IL in 1923.
I am looking for Teresia's parents and siblings, William's parents and siblings, Paul DiSera, and William's first wife's name (Angela Tomerica Alberico?) and any information on descendants.
