The Great Torino and the Superga tragedy
It was 5 pm, May 4, 1949: the plane carrying the Grande Torino, one of the best teams in football history, crashed into the Basilica of Superga, the symbol of Turin. Nobody survived. Journalist and writer Giampaolo Ormezzano, a child at the time, recollects his memories of those dramatic moments, reconstructing a story made up of strange coincidences, the greatest tragedy in the history of Italian football.
