"Caravan Petrol" is the ironic story of a Neapolitan guy who goes digging in Naples in search of oil. The song was a huge hit, reaching the top of the charts. In 1960 director Mario Amendola made a movie ("Caravan Petrol") from the song, starring Nino Taranto and Renato Carosone himself.
Notes: The Pazzariello was a barker and street artist in full Bourbon-like uniform, typical of the Neapolitan folk tradition, often advertising a pub or product.
Toledo is a historic street of Naples, about 1.2 km long, the core of Neapolitan shopping and cultural life since the 16th century, when it was built on order of viceroy Pedro Alvarez de Toledo and designed by architects Ferdinando Manlio and Giovanni Benincasa.
