The most common surnames in the province of Bolzano, in the online phone directory of 2020 [numbers in brackets refer to people, not businesses or institutions], are: Ferrari (409), Tomasi (342), Pedrotti (313), Sartori (279), Rossi (278), Zeni (245), Giovannini (239), Martinelli (222), Valentini (216), Leonardi (188).


As of April 2021, the Antenati Portal has not included any records from Trentino-Alto Adige. The region was until 1918 part of Austria. Familysearch.org has parish records for few churches under the collection "Diocesi di Trento, Registri Parrocchiali, 1548-1937".
